Mel Rodrigues
Mel Rodrigues is a well respected media practitioner, with 20 years’ experience in factual TV, talent nurturing and ED&I. She recently completed six months as Creative Diversity Lead at Channel 4, working on their new commissioning diversity guidelines, Black to Front legacy actions and diverse-led indies fund.
Mel's previous credits include leading the BBC Digital Cities talent/training initiative across the UK, training producers for the charity Media Action and producing a large range of network formats in Cardiff, Bristol and London.
Mel founded Gritty Talent in 2019 to connect untapped and under-represented talent into TV. Working with over 40 indies and broadcasters, Gritty Talent received a commendation at the Edinburgh TV Festival New Voices Awards 2022.
Gritty Talent also recently delivered the first ScreenSkills Producer Pathways programme - working with 80 APs/Producers from under-represented groups to upskill and progress their TV careers.
