Lee McMurray
As commissioning editor at Channel 4 Lee has been responsible for young skewing hit shows across Channel 4, E4 and VOD platform All 4. Lee joined Channel 4 as a commissioning editor in 2017, and has been the commissioning editor on Married at First Sight for the past three series, overseeing its hugely successful move to E4. He has also commissioned Caroline Flack: Her Life & Death, The Accused: National Treasures on Trial, Gemma Collins: Self Harm & Me, Celebrity Call Centre, The Posh Frock Shop and Famous & Fighting Crime for Channel 4, as well as previously being the commissioner for Made in Chelsea and The Sex Clinic on E4. In 2020, he commissioned a deep fake Queen to deliver Channel 4’s prestigious annual Alternative Christmas Message.
Lee has wide-ranging, experience making popular factual programming, from live events, to studio shows, to large-scale reality series and documentary. Before joining Channel 4 he was an executive and series producer, responsible for The Naked Choir with Gareth Malone (BBC2), Secret Eaters (Channel 4), What Happens in Kavos (Channel 4) and the Grierson-nominated Life is Toff (BBC3). His eclectic mix of other TV credits includes Castaway (BBC1), Paradise Hotel (Fox Reality) and Loose Women (ITV).
